The first-ever PSL final had no home crowd because the whole season was played in the UAE. Pakistan wasn’t hosting international cricket in 2016, so Dubai got the honour.
Islamabad United chased 175 without much panic. Dwayne Smith got them off to a fast start with 73.
Andre Russell had dominated the bowling charts all tournament and delivered again in the final. Misbah-ul-Haq lifted the first-ever PSL trophy.

This one mattered beyond cricket. The 2017 PSL final was the first major cricket event held in Pakistan in years. Gaddafi Stadium was packed and loud.

Islamabad United scraped home with one ball left, chasing 149. It was tense.
Luke Ronchi held the innings together at the top. Shadab Khan had been their best player across the whole campaign.
Islamabad became the first team to win two PSL titles. Misbah had now captained two title-winning sides.

After losses in 2016 and 2017, Quetta Gladiators finally won. The chase of 139 never got complicated. They lost only two wickets and finished with two overs to spare.
Shane Watson played a measured innings that set the tone. Sarfaraz Ahmed had captained cleverly throughout. The win ended Quetta’s frustrating run of near-misses.
PSL 2020: Karachi Kings Win Their Only Title So Far

PSL 2020 ran across two windows because of the pandemic. The final didn’t happen until November, with Babar Azam making the wait worthwhile.
He chased 135 with an unbeaten 63 that looked completely unhurried. Karachi Kings won by an over to spare. As of 2026, it remains the only PSL title they have won.
PSL 2021: Multan Sultans Post Record Total to Win First Trophy

Covid moved the second half of PSL 2021 to Abu Dhabi. Multan Sultans took full advantage, posting 206/4, the highest score in PSL final history.
Rilee Rossouw blazed 50 off 21 to set the tone. Sohaib Maqsood finished with 65 not out. Peshawar had no chance chasing 207. Mohammad Rizwan won a title in his debut season as captain.
PSL 2022: Lahore Qalandars End Six Seasons Without a Trophy

Lahore Qalandars had been one of the founding franchises and had never won. That changed in front of their home fans at Gaddafi.
Mohammad Hafeez was brilliant in both innings. Multan were bowled out for 138 chasing 181.
Shaheen Afridi became the first Lahore captain to lift the PSL trophy. It was also the start of something.
PSL 2023: The Only PSL Final Decided by One Run

He smashed 44 not out off 15 balls to push Lahore to 200. Then he came back with the ball and took four wickets.
Zaman Khan was left to defend 12 off the final over. He conceded 11. Multan needed one off the last ball and missed.
Lahore Qalandars won by one run and became the only team ever to defend a PSL title.
PSL 2024: Islamabad United Join Lahore on Three Titles
